- to
plan, design and execute research projects and
programmes related to Indian languages;
- to
undertake research projects and academic
activities in collaboration with other
institutions and organisations in India and
abroad engaged in similar activities;
- to
publish books, monographs, reports and
periodicals and to act as a clearing house for
exchange of information and data in these
areas;
- to
offer various courses and programmes to
private, public, autonomous organisations/
institutions and /or individuals; levy
prescribed course fee and utilize the revenue
for the infrastructure and the development of
the Institute; engage resource persons and
support staff and bring out course materials;
- to
hold seminars, conferences, workshops and
training programmes independently or in
collaboration with other institutions;
- to
institute and give fellowships, scholarships,
awards and prizes to deserving persons for the
study and research in Indian languages;
- to
receive grants from governmental,
semi-governmental organisations and funding
agencies in India and abroad, and utilize the
same in the broad framework of the objectives
of the IILS and its functions;
- to
accept contributions, donations etc. from
individuals, institutions and utilize the
resources thereof for the overall development
of the Institute and its programmes; and
- to
do all such things and undertake activities
necessary or proper for the achievement of any
or all of the objectives aforesaid.
