Keeping
in view the Aims and
Objectives of the IILS, it is currently
engaged in the following activities:
- It
offers training programmes on Effective
Communication Skills, Presentation Skills,
Written Communication, Report Writing, Holding
of Meetings/Negotiations with special
reference to the use of English and other
Indian languages.
- It
conducts short term need based courses in
various Indian languages for foreigners.
- It
develops methods, materials and audio-visual
aids for various types of language courses in
Indian languages.
- It
provides consultancy to various national and
international organizations/institutions on
matters related to the development and use of
Indian languages in different domains.
- It
is engaged in the preparation of books, and
software packages related to linguistic
research in Indian languages.
- The
IILS awards Fellowships each year to renowned
scholars in recognition of their invaluable
contribution to the study of language,
linguistics, literature, and culture.
- The
IILS conducts seminars, conferences and
workshops on various issues related to
languages, linguistics and culture
independently and in collaboration with other
academic institutions.
