Foreword
This
is the second volume of the Information Digest
issued under the Project ZAAN, a programme
undertaken by the Lalla-Ded Educational and
Welfare Trust in collaboration with the Kashmiri
Pandits’ Association. First volume of the
Digest was published in March 2000 and a quiz
programme based on the Information given through it,
was held amongst the young ones of the
community on 30th April 2000.
As
already inf.mp3ed, the objective of the Project
ZAAN is to disseminate Information on the
various facets of the place of our origin - Kashmir,
its history, geography, culture, language etc.
through publications, and to inculcate interest in
our youngsters in their mother-tongue and
arouse their curiosity and interest in their entity,
through various programmes. We expect all biradari
elders to help us in the implementation of our
objectives, by impressing upon their children, the
need to know about our language and culture, and
also give some time to know themselves about
Kashmiri script.
I
trust that this volume will go down with our
youngsters and their parents and kindle their
interest in reaching their roots. This humble effort
on our part needs full cooperation from the biradari
and I trust this would be coming forth in good
measure.
